Is CO2 Good

The claim that increased CO2 will simply boost plant growth contains a kernel of truth but is profoundly misleading. While CO2 fertilization does increase plant productivity in controlled settings by ~23%, this benefit is severely limited by nutrient depletion, reduced crop nutritional quality, climate stress, and paradoxical carbon release from soil microbial activity. The net effect does not offset warming from emissions.
